On April 1, 2015, Tianna Marsh took BMW New Zealand’s unbelievable newspaper ad seriously and arrived at the dealership at 5:30 a.m. in her 15-year-old Nissan Avenir.

Instead of an April Fool’s prank, she drove away with a brand-new BMW 1 Series worth nearly NZ$50,000, complete with the plate “NOF00L.”

BMW also gave her a five-year warranty, three years of servicing and a BMW Driving Experience course.

Her old Nissan was later sold, with the proceeds going to GoBabyGo, which helps children with mobility difficulties.

The stunt was designed as a “reverse April Fool”—most people assumed the offer was fake, but Tianna Marsh decided to take the chance and became the unexpected winner.
